It is operated now in second generation under the direction of the Proepper family and is considered to be one of the most beautiful listed buildings in Monschau. The interior of the hotel has a rustic charm providing a cosy atmosphere.

The Hotel Royal is surrounded by beautiful and interesting landscapes. There is the Eifel National Park with its lakes and forests, the High Venn and the historical old town with its museum. Whether on foot, by bike or motorbike, this is the ideal starting point for an active and enjoyable holiday. Covered parking can be found just 300 metres away.

After a shaky start - we arrived at midnight - we found ourselves very well looked after by all the staff. Our room was not as we had ordered, but this was quickly put right by our Hostess Anna, and all our things were moved from one room to the next, while we out sightseeing ! Our soaking wet motorcycle gear was put in the hotel drying room, and a garage was made available for our bike, and all this was complimentary !
Breakfast was both good quality and comprehensive, with friendly, unobtrusive staff on hand to look after you.
We would heartily recommend this family-run establishment to anyone.
